When two-factor verification is enabled for your account, you confirm each sign-in with a one-time six-digit code in addition to your password. This additional step helps protect your Stampli account.
This article explains the login experience and what to do when you do not receive a verification code. To configure account-level two-factor authentication for users, see Using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
Log in with two-factor verification
Go to the Stampli login page and enter your email address and password.
Select Log In.
Stampli sends a six-digit verification code by SMS to the mobile phone number on your user profile.
Enter the six-digit code in the verification field.
Confirm the code to continue to Stampli.
Verification codes are valid for five minutes. If the code expires or does not arrive, select Resend verification code to request a new one.
Two-factor verification is required for Payment Processors and Payment Approvers on Direct Pay accounts. If your company uses single sign-on (SSO), your identity provider manages multi-factor authentication instead of Stampli’s SMS verification.
If you do not receive the six-digit code
Try the following steps before contacting Support:
Wait briefly, then check again. SMS delivery can be delayed by a mobile carrier.
Select Resend verification code. Use the new code rather than entering an expired code.
Confirm your phone can receive SMS. Check your signal and make sure messages from unknown senders or short codes are not being filtered.
Confirm that the number on your Stampli profile is current. The code is sent to the mobile number, including country code, on your user profile. Ask a System Admin to update it if it is incorrect or out of date.
Use a mobile number. SMS verification codes cannot be delivered to a landline.
If the code still does not arrive after these steps, contact Stampli Support so the team can review the account configuration.
FAQs
Why am I being asked for a code when I never set one up?
Two-factor verification is enabled for your account by a System Admin. When it is enabled, users who sign in with an email address and password must enter a verification code at login.
Where is the code sent?
The code is sent by SMS to the mobile phone number on your Stampli user profile. Ask a System Admin to update the number if needed.
My code expired before I could enter it. What should I do?
Select Resend verification code to receive a new code. Each code is valid for five minutes.
I use SSO. Why do I not see a code prompt?
For SSO users, multi-factor authentication is handled by your company’s identity provider. Follow your organization’s normal sign-in process or contact your IT team for help with your identity provider.
I cannot log in and do not see a code option.
